Natural Animal Care Tips

(owners, too)

Dill Pickle Juice works wonders on cuts.  Kasie Burger suggested her grandfather's method for healing wounds when my 2 year old filly insisted to eating the FM 11 off the front of her hock.  It appeared to remove the proud flesh which the filly instigated by her incessant chewing.  After applying the juice, I had Kasie cover the area with Baking Powder.  The slick wire cut is healing beautifully.

Dogs often prefer the FM 11 powder to the vinegar solution.  Debbie Miller says she gives 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon to her dogs daily.  She uses FM 11 in the place of heartworm prevention drugs.

Heartworm infection was a problem for V. Ellis' Australian Shepard.  She did not want to use the routine drugs.  Instead, she used 1 full eye dropper of the FM 11 twice daily along with an equal amount of Coltsfoot extract.  Historically, Coltsfoot has been used in cases of pneumonia.  Thus, I suggested she also use the Coltsfoot in case the parasites migrated to the lungs of the dog.  Happily, her veterinarian pronounced the dog clean of heartworms 90 days after beginning the procedure.
