An Elementary Approach to Equine Naturopathy
Iridology is a scientific system of analyzing the dis-ease patterns found in the iris of every living entity. The language of the iris is universal and without prejudice based on species, color or creed. It is a law of Nature. Knowledge of iridology allows the body to begin to "talk" of its health status – past and present.
The system of iridology defines iride patterns and structures to locate stages of inflammation and/or cell destruction in specific body areas. Injuries such as bruising and fractures show in the iris within minutes.
Iridology is a functional tool used in the prevention of the physical manifestation of disease used in many countries around the world. Approximately 85% of all human iris charts developed throughout the world agree on the location of specific anatomical signs of the iride.
The proving of the equine iris chart is in its infancy. There will be changes as more and more necropsies of dis-eased horses are performed to prove the location of more specific iris zones in correlation with the specific anatomical site found within the body.
Principles of iridology are simple. Without knowing the basics, a mother often looks at her child’s eyes and pronounces the child is not feeling well. She is seeing an overall change in the iris. With a little basic knowledge of "light" versus "dark" markings in the iris, she would be able to determine where the dis-ease is located and the extent of the tissue’s under- or over-activity. A course of therapy could then be applied with more accuracy than the hit-or-miss technique often applied using routine home remedies.
Iridology is a scientific analysis of iride patterns and structures to locate stages of inflammation in specific body areas. Analysis aids in determining general constitution by revealing inherent weaknesses and/or strengths, and the relative level of cellular metabolism, injury or degeneration in specific organs and tissues. Improper nutrition and/or chemical imbalances may result in toxic accumulations can be determined. A lack of nutrition or exercise can undermine body integrity to the point the body is unable to reverse toxic conditions through its own self-healing abilities.
Iridology allows a horse owner/handler/trainer to discover what’s happening inside the body in a simple, painless and economical non-invasive method. Signs of inflammation can appear up to 2 weeks prior to physical manifestation. Iridology can forewarn of approaching signs of disease to enable the handler to seek medical help before it’s too late to reverse a physical problem. This system can be used as an integral part of preventive equine health care.
